That's part of almost any photographic endeavour, isn't it? There's an art to finding the shot - especially if it's one that most of us would walk past without noticing. But after that there's the whole business of picking the viewpoint, the angle of view, and so on. It's an area that I strive to improve in my photography; I tend to look "through" the viewfinder, rather than looking "at" the viewfinder image, so I often miss elements that spoil the composition.
