I guess it's a matter of what you're comparing it to. Sure, there's a lot of flare. Actually, I was trying to get that vertical bar of flare. But what impressed me was the lack of veiling flare. Compared to my FA* 200/2.8 or F* 300/4.5, the Zenitar has ratty flare control. Compared to my third-party manual focus lenses of similar cost, though, the Zenitar is awesome. TTYL, DougF KG4LMZ
