Hi David ... I was visiting a friend today and discussing just this dilemma ... the 77 or an istD. I'll probably have a better feel for the decision when the film I shot yesterday comes back from the lab. While most of the pics I took were dreck, just for the purpose of continuing testing the Agfa 50 slide film, there were a few nice scenes that presented themselves that I'm really hoping will turn out OK.
I also realized that the main reason I want to shoot digital is because I'm sometimes lazy. There are times i don't want to fire up the darkroom, or drive to and from the lab, or don't have the film needed for what I want to shoot in the freezer and have to run out and buy some. IOW, it's easier to use a DSLR. Perhaps that's a good enough reason to make the move, but maybe not. However, I do believe, from everything I've heard about the lens, I won't regret it regardless of what camera body it's attached to. BTW, I've still gotta get back to you on something or other ... have to go thru saved messages to get reminded of it. Bear with me.
