The ratings are apparently monitored as is the general behavior of forum members.. I noticed that someone bombed you last night. The guy was a nut case, and he generated quite an uproar. All his ratings were apparently deleted. He may have been kicked off Photo Net as well. Two of my ratings were deleted last night as well. One was a 3/3, but the other was a 6/5. Whoever left that last one may have been banned for some other violation. I know several people were banned on the Leica forum. There are those who say the monitors are heavy handed, but I guess someone has to preserve a bit of order. Thousands of people use the various forums.

When I posted my Because last night on Photo.net, I made a
critique/rating request, mostly because I'm given to believe that the
more one's photos get rated the larger the free photo quota for us
non-subscribers.

So, I make such a request on pretty much all the (1/2 decent) photos I
put up there. And, since I know they may be rated, I'll check to see
how I'm doing <g>.

The odd time, some jerk gives me like a 2 or even a 1. Fine. Not
everyone likes my stuff, but I don't think they're worth that low a
mark, by any objective standard.

Last night, the first rating I got was a 2/2. I went to see how this
guy tended to rate, and his average rating given was something like
2.2. Pretty low.

Then this morning, his rating was gone!

In fact, it's not the first time something like this has happened,
where a low rating (or even couple of ratings) that are completely out
of whack with other ratings for that photo turn into vapour.

I wonder if this is something that happens automatically, or if
someone is monitoring things. Has anyone experienced this? Anyone
know what's going on?

Just curious.

cheers,
frank
