I had the Vivitar Series 1 19-25 for a while, and it was fine as long as you were in 'low flare' situations.

I think this is the only shot I took with the lens that made it onto my website:

I have a few shots taken outside, though, where the flare literally looks like the transporter effect on the first "Star Trek" series.

This was all on film, so YMMV.
