Unless this lens is a heck of a lot better than I expect to be, and don't get me wrong, I expect it to be
a good if not great lens. I don't see any purpose to it. The SMCP 28-200mm 3.5~5.6 covers the range
more than adequately. While I was somewhat disappointed in it on 35mm, (I acquired it with a camera body
I wanted), it is a very good to excellent performer on the *ist-D. I'm much more interested in the SMCP DA
12-24mm f4 lens to get something _wide_. The long end I've got covered. Additionally you can pick up the 28-200
in either Pentax or Tamron Black or Silver for less than $200.00 if you hunt around for it. Sometimes a lot less.
