Adobe Photoshop Elements v3.0 includes the ability to use the Adobe Camera Raw v2.4 plug-in, which will do RAW conversion processing on the majority of RAW formats on the market. Even purchased new, it's under $90 from volume retailers.

That depends on your camera to a great degree. With a Pentax *ist DS, between 46 and 50 RAW files fit on a 512M card; it's a lower number for an *ist D. What camera are you using?
