Train travel, hell, the death of Great Lakes shipping killed the city. Most of the people seem to have moved to Charlotte NC. Me I moved to Elmira when I was two, and then Detroit when I was five, but ended up in Charlotte anyways. There every other person I met was from Buffalo.

So that's where you all went! Sort of like the Tuscarora Indians in reverse. No wonder I never run into any Buffalonians.
And you're right they always did say that the railroads killed the lake shipping. I think Buffaslo must have been already dying when i got there 35 years ago.
