With great difficulty. As an example, a recent survey by the Royal Society for the Protection of Birds showed that a significant proportion of UK wader (seashore) bird deaths in the winter and early spring were precipitated by the disturbance they suffer from people using the beaches. They have very little reserves, so the disturbance of someone letting their dog run through the flocks every weekend can cause them to use enough energy to run out before food supplies become abundant again in Spring. mike > > Nice shot, Ken.
