Thanks for your comments, Markus.
I don't tend to change lenses very often in a given photo session, I
usually just concentrate on seeing with one lens' capabilities. I
generally only have one or two lenses with me at any given time. But
on a three-week trip with both in-city people, rural landscape,
sports and other possibilities, I'll carry a couple of extra lenses
along just in case to handle the possible situations. I would like a
spare body, but I've been holding off until Summer to see whether
Pentax makes any announcements. I might just pick up another DS anyway.
You're right, I didn't list any filters. I tend to use filters very
very infrequently. But I do have a 58mm circ polarizer, deep ND and a
couple of close up lenses, as well as a 49-58mm step up ring, so I
suppose I should toss them in the bag. I will have a microfiber
cleaning cloth and a hand blower for dust.

Too much choice of lenses does not help **me** to concentrate on the

changed equipment about 10 times. I could not decide whether to
carry the
35-70mm zoom and the 70-210mm zoom for convenience or fixed lenses for
better quality and some more light. After tomorrow, I will travel
again with
the 24mm, the 35-70mm zoom and the 70-210mm zoom again and shoot
ISO 200
film. I can leave the lenses on the 2 bodies all the
time and just care for my "targets".
In your case, I would leave some of the lenses at home or If you
really need
all of them - depending on what you really want to photograph- ,
carry a
second body for several reasons with you. What about a stronger
flash than
the built in? A polfilter
is a must for me as well as some cleaning paper for the lenses.
I really like having a second body with the 24mm always ready and
changing
lenses in a crowded place is not a
thing I like to do. The second body is good also in case the first one
fails.
I wish you a happy trip and good light
greetings

Subject: Time to pack...
My trip to the UK/Isle of Man is nearly upon me: I leave tomorrow.
Time to pack the equipment ... this is the gear I'm taking along:
*ist DS body
A24/2.8
A50/1.4
FA28-105/3.2-4.5
DA14/2.8
F100-300/4.5-5.6 (this might yet be substituted with the FA135/2.8
and 2x-S teleconverter)
Cable Switch CS 205
Remote F
bubble level
Magnifier FB
SD cards - 5 Gbytes
Lithium AA batteries - 5 sets
Epson P-2000 standalone storage unit plus charger
That all fits in a reasonably small, lightweight bag. Might add the
M85/2 lens as well, but I think it's probably overkill.
I'll also take my tripod, a Manfrotto 3444D legs with Manfrotto
322RC2 head, in its own bag.
Any comments on the kit? Did I forget anything essential?
I'll be off the PDML list while I'm away ... too much volume. I look
forward to meeting up with a few of the PDMLers in Oxford on
Saturday, should be a lot of fun. :-)
