I prefer the smoother sky and the far wing of the new version, but the black
feathers of its body have filled in too much for my taste, and I prefer the
old version for having more detail and visibility in that regard.

Also, the new version shows strong chromatic aberration on the sharp branch,
and blue fringing on the unfocused branches that were hardly noticeable on
the original.

Perhaps you could layer up the two versions, and selectively erase the less
desirable aspects.
