Hi!
<news flash!>
Frankie does macro!
Whoa!
So, this is a lot harder than I thought. This is the best macro of my
day shooting at the Tulip Festival in Ottawa last week. I now realize
that any jerk can stick a macro lens on and get real close, but
there's much more than that to actually get it to look good.
Be brutal, but honest. Comments would be most appreciated.
<Friendly smile at the sentence just above...>
I know, it's not really black, it's deep violet, but they call it a
black tulip anyway:

Yep, that would be my first comment. It is not really black... :-)
Now seriously... I should say this is very good... My only suggestion,
like Bob Sullivan said, would be to try to get a clean shot on your main
subject. That is, no blending with OOF images of the same flower...
The rest is technically just fine... There might be some ways I would
try to crop this image, but knowing your attitude towards such things, I
refrain...
I wonder what you would do if you were to come here with your (macro)
gear...
