You raise a good point. I do have two *istD's and sometimes use both of them. Sometimes that works and sometimes it doesn't. I don't have identical lenses at all focal lengths so it can work if there is enough crossover with the lenses I have. Times it hasn't worked too well is when I have the camera mounted to a flash bracket and an AF400T hooked up to a Quantum external battery. I can't carry two rigs like that even if I had them (I'd need another battery and bracket). Another case is where I coerce my daughter to be a second shooter - different location/view - then I don't have another body to spare.
I will say that the problem is not bad enough to make me want to change brands - even considered picking up a DS or another D to have in the waiting. I do love the general handling and capability of the *istD and use it almost everyday. There isn't much about it that causes me pain to use, but the buffer is probably the single most prominent thing. I still don't hesitate to recommend it to someone that would do well with it. BTW, one *istD is MORE expensive than one Nikon D70, which is fast enough at clearing the buffer. -- Best regards, Bruce Thursday, June 2, 2005, 3:51:09 PM, you wrote: G> Isn't that why you have two cameras?
