The DS is supposed to have a brighter viewfinder, (I didn't notice any
difference when I compared them), the DL is probably dimmer

That's great news, Bob; congratulations.
I must say, having had Cesar's D to play with last weekend, I'm
mightily tempted. I think I'd not be able to go DS, though, as I'd
likely need the bright viewfinder of the D for my manual focusing
(such as it is... <g>). I understand that the DS has a penta-mirror,
and I don't know how good that would be for those of us without AF
lenses.
Let me know if you can focus okay with the darker viewfinder, would you?
