A shadow is a bit strong, which would imo be even good if there was a narrow strip of light separating the nail and shadow. Lacking that the edge of the

I was actually thinking the same thing while processing the scanned file but at that stage it was a bit late to do anything about it. In some ways I like how it blends into its own shadow but it does create a weird shape, as if it's some kind of funnel.

Regarding the blocked-up shadow detail, I've made an adjustment and saved it as a separate file: http://www.bluemoon.net.nz/photo/printsdb/view.php?t=PAW&print_id=94 (original) http://www.bluemoon.net.nz/photo/printsdb/view.php?t=PAW&print_id=95 (adjusted)

It's still quite dark in this room so it might not make much difference when viewing in daylight. I tend to make my shadow details quite subtle because I like photos where I see more as I look closer.

Shel; I'll have a fiddle with the borders at some stage. The whole site is a work-in-progress and I do have a few issues with it as it is. Unfortunately I'm too busy working on someone else's site to do much with my own at this stage.

Cheers,
