Personally, David, I really like the shot. I just assumed that the "halo" was a sort of "hair light" effect from the sun. I feel like it makes the subject stand out from the background, and it helps draw my eye to the subject. All in all, one of the better bird-and-scenery shots I've seen lately. TTYL, DougF KG4LMZ
