Not overly scientific either, but I have some ~comparative~ (certainly not absolute) resolution (only) tests of a bunch of Pentax K, M, and A normal lenses (including multiple samples of most models) at http://www.cetussoft.com/pentax/resolutn.htm . The A is a little sharper than the M (in my opiniuon), and it also seems to have a wee bit more contrast, too. However, the M is a lovely lens, and is nicer to use than the A (for "feel"). Pentax has never made a bad (or even a mediocre) 50/1.4, going way back to the M42 days... Fred
