Its not absolutes, its percentage. 30EUR is a VERY small percentage of a 700EUR camera. Its as simple as that.
I honestly feel that anyone who really needs buy LOWER MODEL just to be saving the 30EUR on a 700EUR purchase to "pay the bills" shouldn't be buying the 700EUR camera in the first place... I strongly suspect that this 30EUR price difference will change (get bigger) or the istDS will go away because they are going to have a VERY VERY VERY hard time selling a lower spec model for such a tiny price difference.... Here you are deciding how other people are going to spend their money, setting their priorities, and telling the world that 30EUR makes no difference. Tell that to the family man who wants the best deal on a good camera and who also has a couple of kids to take care of, a mortgage, car payments, and the like. I've seen people here in the US make buying decisions where $50.00 would make or break the deal. A tight budget doesn't mean poor ... it just means, usually, that one may have a lot of expenses and more important priorities. If the money weren't a factor why is it that so many people, even on this list, who have plenty of disposable income, will shop for the best price and buy on line to save even just a few dollars? Money is important to some people, and they will always look for ways to save a few dollars. Shel > [Original Message] > From: J. C.
