Please do! With current super-high-speed CD readers, it's not
impossible for the CD to actually _shatter_ when unbalanced with a
adhesive label...

If you want to know why so much care must be given to the "label" side
of the CD, just scratch a bad one with knife - you will see that there
is only a superthin layer of varnish or some coat and than under a
thin aluminium/gold/silver layer. when this layer is damaged, the CD
doesn't work. The downside of the CD is actually much more resistant
to scratches than the label side.
