Thanks for your comments and for recognizing the "experimental" nature of the photos. It was a lot of fun playing around with various interpretations from the same negative. My preference is for the second photo, the square one. It's closer to the way the result was originally envisioned. The first one is not well cropped or framed, and, frankly, I got too caught up in trying for a certain intensity and missed the mark entirely. Fortunately, not many people viewed the photo ;-))
It'll be interesting to hear what my friends at the lab have to say about it, and to see how it'll look when printed.
