On my D, TTL flash only works at 200-400 ASA (800ASA) - after that, the images get overexposed. No matter which flash I use. Who wants a flash at 1600-3200 ASA anyway? IME flashes with a red light AF assist doesn't work great at speeds above 400 ASA.
