I myself am not comfortable with a lens that changes aperture by over a stop whenever you zoom, forcing you to change shutter speed to compensate (which is hard because most older cameras allow only full stop speeds and half stop apertures). That is not "intuitive" to me and gets in way of my photography. Subsequently, after using some, I won't touch a variable aperture zoom with a long pole ;-) (well, ok, I used some, but basically only at their wide, fastest, end, even gaffer-taping the zoom ring to stay in place <g>) YMMV :) Frantisek
