Collin, I've had similar problems with SD cards from my two compacts (jpg files), and blame the card reader. In my case, the files were not really corrupt, it was just that the tail end of the files were missing. I ended up buying a dedicated SD card reader from SanDisk, which has worked flawlessly. The faulty reader had a common slot for SD and numerous other card formats. I don't know if that may be significant, though.
