There is an old old saying, "If it ain't broke, don't fix it".

No matter what other peoples experience was if ME works for you keep it. I
stayed with Win98 until I started getting software that would not run on it,
then switched to XP. Strangely I have a couple of pieces of software that will
only run on 98 (companys are OFB), so I keep a 5gb Win98 partitian to run them
from.

I admit to a preference for Unix but there is too much software that I use frequently that will
not run on it, so I am stuck using windows. If I really had the choice I would be like the
maid, "I don't do windows" <grin>. I wish I had two or more systems like in the
old days, but it looks like that will not happen again in my lifetime. Oh well.

WinMe is not a goof choice if you need to go above 1G of RAM. too many device driver problems.

Herb...

Thanks. Win2000 has been a possibility for some time but <heresy> I'm so happy with
what I've got </heresy> I've never felt the need to go through all the rigmarole
required by changing OS.
