AFAIK,
Chromatic Aberations will affect results on panchromatic
BW film. In effect it lowers resolution even on BW because the image
gets blurred...Chromatic aberations would only be a non factor if
the film was sensitive only to one wavelength but panchro BW
is sensive to all the visible wavelengths...

I shot last weekend a test of tessar 50/2.8 and compared it to my SMC A 
50/1.4. The scans are pretty large (2x24M) but if you are interested I 
could send them to you.

My impression is that it is very sharp lens. I could not speek about 
chromatic aberations because I tested them on B&W film. And it is realy 
cheap here. You could find on for less than $50.
