the Canon 500D is pretty good. i use it on the FA* 80-200/2.8 and the FA*
400/5.6 with excellent results. with shorter lenses, it doesn't seem as
good.

I have to admit that after playing around with some insect shots over
the past few days, I'm wishing I had that lens myself. Perhaps I'll have
to settle for a close-up diopter or Kenko extension tube for my
80-200/2.8 until I can afford the real thing...
