I have done some street shooting today, in fact for the first time in my
life. Something has been holding me back. The idea makes me a bit shy. There
is something about directing a lens at somebody. It is a statement, saying
"I find you appealing", or something like that.
Tim, I've been where you are for a long time. Eventually I took the dive
and although I don't consider myself to be any good at it, but I don't
hesitate to try. Also, thanks to quite a few folks here, I've received
some quite invaluable advice.
So, come on, show us your stuff!
Anyway, I did it! And now I want to share it with you fellas. (If I'm happy
with the result, haven’t looked at the files yet) This is my first steps at
a "dangerous new ladder". I hope it is leading to the photographic heaven,
the ever lasting emulsion ;-)
Hmmm, there is a small hotel district/town just nearby the Dead Sea.
Jostein can attest to that ;-). I wonder how then shooting on the
streets of this town would count... Kidding again, I know, but I am
mostly harmless...
So now I have a question for you. My regular site foto.no will not allow me
more than two submissions a week. This is more.
Anyone having any recommendations on where to look for the perfect site?
Tim, if you want just to upload the files so that you can post the links
here I can recommend either www.flickr.com (but some folks seem to
despise it), or alternatively, you can use anything like
www.geocities.com in order to build your own web pages. Though geocities
have rather ugly interface if you stick to free subscription.
I cannot recommend you any free of charge site where you can upload your
stuff freely and get reasonable comments. There're two sites which I
use. One is bi-lingual (English/Russian). The other is pure Russian. The
former allows for 3 images to be uploaded every 7 days, which I think is
reasonable. So you may want to point your browser to www.photoforum.ru
and see if you like the rules.
