I recently visited the Oklahoma City National Memorial with my two sons. Here are are some photos and a couple of video clips.
<http://georges.smugmug.com/gallery/618589> This is the memorial to those who were killed in the bombing of the Murrah Federal Building in 1995. Not knowing what to expect, we thought we would spend a half-an-hour or so seeing the memorial. As it turns out we spent over three hours at the outdoor memorial and indoor museum. It's very well done and quite an experience. No photography is allowed in the museum. Given the nature of the material, photos wouldn't be very effective anyway. Some things must be experienced in person. That said, there is no way these photos can convey the feeling of the actual site. If you are ever in the area of Oklahoma City, it is worth spending some time to experience it for yourself. A note on the videos. They are just a couple of long panning shots to provide a feel for the layout. That said, they are several Mbytes each and if you're not on a high speed connection should be skipped. See you later, gs <http://www.georgesphotos.net>
