As you probably already know; the *ist Ds, simply because its my only Pentax
so far. My son has a ME super (but as you already also know, it doesn't
work). So far I am very happy with the Ds. It simply does what I ask it to
do. And as I've said before, I like the response and shape of the body ;-)

Graywolf: You are absolutely right about the Oly C-5050. I have one myself,
and it is great. Handy, reliable, takes good shoots also under lowlight
conditions. It also takes a lot of beating without letting you down. There
are just two real downsides, it is sloooow, and it is sloooow. One more
downside, the wide stops at 35mm (135 equivalent).

Mostly harmless (just plain Norwegian.)

Never underestimate the power of stupidity in large crowds

Subject: Re: Your Favorite Pentax Camera

In case someone here on the list doesn't already know: MX

Expanding on things a bit, cameras I wish I still had:
1. Linhof Super Technika III (last version). OK, I admit it, I would really
like a ST-V.
2. Rolleiflex E2 2.8 Xenotar.
3. Mamiya Universal Press (wish I had the one I bought new with the 100/2.8
lense from the one I bought used).
4. 1952 Pacemaker Crown Graphic 45 (I know, I know, I still have this one).

And the ones I never had but have always wanted:
5.Minox III
6.Leica M2

Interestingly, only one of those six (the Rollei) has a built-in meter.

Finally, I hope I like the Oly C-50550 that is coming as much as I think I
will. Most digitals that I see advertised are in my mind only convenient
tools, the C-5050 with it f/1.8 lens catches my interest, where few do. I
think it will be a great carry camera.
