While in Nevada visiting friends this weekend, I pulled out the Pentax DS to do a couple of pictures of flowers. Lo and behold a visitor appeared ... a Hummingbird Moth! I've known of them for years but never seen one before.

I had the F35-70 lens on the camera and only had a couple of seconds to capture a photo of it without scaring it off, so this is actually a very small portion of the full frame exposure ... I think the 35-70 performs very well. A 1:1 detail and the full-frame exposure are composited together and available for viewing by clicking on the image in the above page.
