Thanks Alan, I will have to check out that list. Most of the stuff I have looked at on the web has been posted by idiots.
Example: The manual focus stinks, I can not tell any difference on the monitor
between nearby and far away.
My imediate mental response: With a 7mm lens set to f/8 pretty much everything
from about 1 meter (3 feet) to infinity is sharp. How could you expect to tell
the difference on the monitor?
Only one site I have found seems to be done by someone who thinks rather than
parroting nonsense:

I took a whole lot of pictures with mine before I got my istD. It's a
great camera. As Godfrey notes it can be frustratingly slow, probably
the main reason I went to a DSLR, but it does take very nice pictures.
Pretty good for low light stuff, given the sensor size.
I'd recommend getting an auxiliary lens mount adaptor, mostly to protect
the lens. Oh and there's a list for these over at Yahoo. Gets almost as
many posts as this one does!

I just did a BIN on a used Oylmpus C-5050. That makes me a double
traitor. Buying a digi-tal, and buying a foreign brand. I have wanted
one of these since they were anounced but had to wait until I could
get it for pocket change. Hey, I am buying a camera that is only 3-4
years old, not 50+, but I guess that is the same thing in digital.
Oh well! --
