it definitely support them. i used one all the time to change the boot delay
and to verify that it didn't hang early in the boot process.

My only beef with ME was the way it no longer supported boot menus (I
think that policy was introduced in 98 but I went 95->ME).
It didn't stop me for long though - lilo worked nicely :)
