I guess the best is to begin auction at 1 dollar/euro with no reserve
or it really depends?

I haven't sold anything on eBay but I've heard from people who have. I hope someone corrects me if I get anything wrong.

Things to consider:

eBay fees depend in part on the minimum starting price. The lower the starting price the lower the fees.

Some people avoid very low minimum bid auctions with no reserve. It's one of the characteristics of a scam auction.

Some people (I'm one of them) are reluctant to bid any real money on an auction with very low or zero feedback.

You need to do everything you can to assure the bidders that the auction is real and not a scam. Be prepared to post pictures that prove you have the item in hand.

Be up front and specific about shipping charges. Some people won't bid if the shipping charges aren't specified. It's another common scam where the seller tells the buyer "Shipping and handling will be $40".

I hope this helps.
