I'd been expecting it anyway (only been there 7 years BTW). Redundancies have been a regular event since the company was sold to overseas interests several years ago.
Remember, there is always a better job down the street.
I'm told the tech industry in my city is pretty good right now but I need to figure out exactly what I want to do: another permanent job, go contracting, or work on my own business full-time.
