Tom, FWIW -- Cokin makes polarizing filters that fit into the A or P filter holder. I use the Tiffen glass ones because they fit the Cokin filter holders. Be careful with them though. I tried to use a brand new one with a polarizer filter. I thought I had the P holder attached to the polarizing filter but when I tried to maneuver the Tiffen, the damned P holder fell off. My brand new never used $100+ filter smashed to bits. I was so mad I wanted to jump off the damned mountain. The Cokin ones scratch and they can give you weird colors but they don't break. The soft edged filters are designed for wide angle lenses and the hard edged ones for telephoto lenses.
