I don't think there's any way to definitively prove it, but the
circumstantial evidence is pretty overwhelming. Arista film is marked
"Made in England", I have seen several websites devoted to cost-saving
tips make the Ilford-Arista connection, I have purchased Ilford paper
from a company widely believed to do the rebranding for Freestyle
(WilliamPaul and Associates), and the box it comes in is exactly the
same as the box that Ilford bulk film comes in. Freestyle's catalog
also details the financial problems their English film supplier is
going through to explain why they now carry a second line of B&W film
and paper from a company in "Eastern Europe". I have bought Arista
Professional 400 and Arista Professional 50 and am satisfied that it
is rebranded Ilford film (HP5 and Pan F respectively). I realize that
since I'm usually just a lurker on the list (I guess I should mention
that this is a new email address, I have previously posted using
[EMAIL PROTECTED]) I would recommend you do some independent
research if you're interested in buying Arista film. It works for me,
but your mileage may vary, etc, etc.
