I sometimes use AF with my FA100/2.8 macro. The bee shot I posted a week ago is one example where it worked well. However, AF is even more useful with manual focus lenses when it comes to macro. So you just adjust the focus according to the desired magnification, then move the camera towards the subject and press the button when the in-focus indicator pops up?

I'll have to correct myself on that one. Obviously, I won't even have to make a conscious decision about when to "shoot", as the body won't actually release the shutter until the subject is in focus. Apparently, it's been a while since I used a manual lens on an AF body... Must be because that soft focus lens is so much fun...
