To be off topic again:  when I was running youth exchanges with Poland, one of 
the evening entertainments would be a visit to a "real" pub.  Usually, the 
girls in the Polish group would be either non-drinkers or did not like the 
taste of beer.  I would suggest that they tried cider.  Getting across the idea 
that this was fermented apple juice was often quite hard and, every time, 
someone would whisper the dreaded word "jabol" and that would be it.  Big eyes 
and lots of "no, thank you"s.  Jabol is what the winos drink in Poland........
