Ok, I missed the specific reference to JPEG.
That said, I'd much rather see a comparison of the D's JPEG at
default settings compared to the DS at its defaults. So many other
comparisons would be useful: The DS in Natural mode vs Vivid (Vivid
*will* bias the resulting RGB results), with different parameters
set, etc, etc... Does the D even have a Vivid color mode?
To get a complete picture of the two cameras' differences in this
regard means a LOT of test shots with a stable target subject. I was
lucky in that someone else did it for the Canon 10D and 300D, I was
able to read and chart the results.
