Shel, I took a look at the original Mitten scan and the slide itself and see essentially the same "halo". May be fringing from the A 20~80 f/4-5.6 that I passed along to another a couple years ago. The same shot would now be made with an FA* 28~70 f/2.8. I encourage your future critiques.
