Anyone who considers McDonalds to be the nadir of bad hamburgers has never sampled the culinary delights of a Wimpy bar (or White Castle, come to that). Wimpy existed long before McDonalds invaded the UK. In fact I know of several cases where a McDonalds effectively replaced the local Wimpy bar, whereupon there was much rejoicing.
