The only A lens that I own with plastic bits where it counts is the A50/1.4 all the others have all metal barrels, focus & aperture controls. A few years back I fell pretty hard onto my LX & 31LTD in the first few days of a two week trip. The base was perforated and the hood of the limited bent in quite a bit but they both functioned flawlessly for the remainder of the trip.
