As a good liberal I tend to support the argument for legalising all the drugs, and selling them through licensed premises. Over here in GB we have half-heartedly downgraded the classification of cannabis, and 'sort of' decriminalised it, in as much as the police don't prosecute people for using it.
But decriminalising is not the same as legalising. You still can't grow it, supply it or buy it legally, so in some ways we have the worst of all worlds, in that there are still criminal (and terror) gangs making money, and making peoples' lives miserable, from dealing in the stuff, and the dealers can still use it as a gateway to the harder drugs. One of the important things about legalising it, in my opinion, would be to use the tax revenue to support people who wanted to come off the addictive drugs. -- Cheers, Bob [...] > He made a very convincing arguement for, if not legalizing, at least > decriminalizing the stuff. > > Do we have any Dutch list members who can comment on their > experiment with > decriminalizing pot use? > > William Robb > > > > >
