Well I was actually working at the only big corporation in Rochester that is doing well: Harris RF Communications, maker of military radio equipment. As a components engineer, I got to talk to reps who covered all of upstate NY (and beyond, in many cases) so I got a pretty broad view. They kept getting ever more friendly towards us and I know our orders weren't going up that much so it's pretty certain they were telling me the truth about all the other orders going down.
