Actually that's a fair comment. Use top quality ear defenders - I have the swimming type (rubber, parasol-shaped) that give a good seal and will block out the dangerous levels of a B1 bomber on full reheat at take-off (tested). With the plugs in, you can find a good vantage point in front of the speaker stack left or right stage. Anyone standing there won't even notice you blocking their view as they'll be floating in a world of their own anyway. Good luck!
