Sure one can be sceptical or cynical but at least they are saying something in 
public. It is better than before when it went through the rumors mill. I don't 
think they can say such things in public and not stand by it if they are not to 
loose all credibility.

Actually, the MZ-S has more features than the Z-1p but it uses a totally 
different interface and philosophy. It updates the interface of the original 
Asahi Pentax from 1958. It is an upgrade path for the MZ-5n and all Pentax with 
the original Pentax interface; the one you find on every camera from the 
60-70's. The Z-1p was basically just discontinued but the *ist's are close.
