IMGP2846.JPG is straight out of the camera. Have a look at the colour of the
sky the CA at the edges of the frame and the detail lost in most areas of near
full or full saturation. On my monitor both images offer similar detail in the
shadow areas but in every other way I find the jpg generated using the post
processed RAW file (IMGP2845.jpg) is superior.

As usual, once I knew what to look for, I agree with you.
I missed the CA in 2846 before, as I wasn't specifically looking for it.
Overall, 2845 is cleaner...
