A bit of a departure for me, I decided to try this particular one in
B&W.  It is Balancing Rock in Arches.

Pentax *istD, DA 16-45/4, Handheld, Polarizer
ISO 200, 1/180 sec @ f/13, 16mm focal length
Converted from Raw using Capture One LE
Converted to BW with Picture Window Pro - Red filter

Bruce, I think Shel's treatment is right to the point.

However, with all honesty, I like the color original better than either of b/w shots. Probably opening up shadows on the balancing rock would make it even more attractive to me. I mean the color shot of course.
