This may well be true, only time will tell, but technology will long
surpass the storage media. Can you really imagine folks using dvd in
100-200 years? My iMac has not floppy disk, yet some folks have files
stored on these disks.

The process of keeping up to date media is a long and laborious one.
Film however, if stored in optimal conditions will give you this 
life expectancy but does however, suffer from the single copy only.
regardles of where how it is stored, somebody mentioned a vault in
the WTC before they fell down, and the film was lost. No system
will be foolproof, there will always be disasters for photographers
and pixographers.
