I'm not familiar with that lens and I believe the plate for my 600mm probably 
wouldn't work.

You can get a rough idea by finding the balance point for that lens/camera body 
combo and noting where it is relative to the lens's tripod mount foot. Do this 
for your lightest/heaviest camera body/converter combo. Ideally the balance 
point should fall within the length of the lens mount. The further the balance 
point fall from the center of the mounting foot, the longer the plate required 
to balance the combo.

You won't know for sure until you have the lens/camera combo mounted on the 
head, however a call to the Wimberly folks will probably get you started.
